SUPERNATURAL MOMENTS IN WORSHIP

14 October 2009 No Comment

There is something so “other worldly” when I get caught up in magnificent moments of true worship. The Word says God inhabits the praises of his people. When God is smack dab in the center of something it can’t be anything but supernatural! In His presence is fullness of joy and anything else you need Him to be  because He is the great I Am.

I am about to wear out a worship CD I have been listening to day and night.  It is appropriately and  poignantly  entitled “Overcome”.  The executive producers are Marcus and Joni Lamb, and Joe Ninowski and David Ribb from Daystar Television Network.  As I have been meditating on the words to all the songs, I have been tremendously blessed and simply overcome as the title indicates. The Daystar singers and band are so anointed.

I was enjoying a song called “High and Lifted Up”, written by Darlene Zschech and Mike Gugliemucci from Hillsong Publishing.  When they started singing the one  word majesty, I was taken to a place in the spirit that what so glorious because my spirit was in full agreement with the attribute of  God’s majesty. I saw this cosmic  display of exploding fireworks. Dazzling bright white light was shooting everywhere and that’s how I felt in my spirit.

Then we came to the song, “Holy”, by Matt Gilman from Forerunner Music.  Surely I must have been in God’s throne room because I saw what looked like ocean waves rolling in, one on top of the other. However they were not waves of water but billowing white waves of the train of His robe. They just kept coming and coming and there was no end to them.  Can you wrap your brain around the thought that there is no end to God’s glory!

A meltdown occurred when they sang, “When I Speak Your Name,”  written by Elizabeth Clark and Klaus Kuehn from Gateway Create Publishing. Some of the words are:

When I speak your name
mountains move
chains are loosed.
When I speak your name
darkness flees
it has no hold on me.
Jesus, the most beautiful name that I know.

No wonder God designed us for relationship and for worship. It’s a place of deep intimacy and ecstasy. Everything else fades in the light of His glory and nothing else can touch us or compare to such majesty. Imagine what our lives would be like if we purposed in our hearts to practice His presence on a more continual basis through worship. It’s a win win situation. I believe it is possible to live our lives in such a way that we are  continually God-inside-minded with the help of the HolySpirit. It’s called walking in the spirit and it is a choice.

My prayer for you

Father, in the power of your Holy Spirit, help us to continually walk out our lives with our eyes, our hearts, and our words  fixed on you, so we may stay in your holy presence and  glorify you, in Jesus name. Amen.

In Christ,

Nancy Slocum
